Frewen, who curenntly plays for Newport RFC, was outstanding last summer as the Dragons swept to their first Singha 7s title, beating Wasps in a compelling final at the Twickenham Stoop.
During the first leg of the series, Frewen was awarded the Player of the Tournament.
The player of the series award was voted for, by all of the coaches across the sevens tournament last season.
The Singha Premiership Rugby 7s tournament kicks off on Friday 22nd July at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park. The Dragons will be pitted against the other three Welsh Regions Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Scarlets.
