The back row has previously captained premiership side Bedwas as well as playing for Ebbw Vale and has earned international age grade honours whilst playing for Wales U18s and captaining the U20s.
After recovering from two serious knee injuries the 24-year-old made the move back to regional rugby from premiership rugby and has appeared 14 times for the Men of Gwent this season.
On signing his contract, Thomas commented: “It feels good to have signed for the Dragons.
“Its fantastic to have a full-time professional contract with the Dragons meaning that I can now focus on my rugby 100%.”
Director of Rugby, Lyn Jones added: “Its great to have a Gwent born rugby player who succeeds when given chances.
“He has impressed following a difficult start and has since been selected on merit.
“I look forward to watching him improve over the coming months in becoming a very good regional rugby player.”
