So far this month the men of Gwent remain unbeaten after two back-to-back bonus point wins in the European Challenge Cup against Bucharest Wolves, then against Zebre in their Guinness PRO12 clash on Sunday.
The Dragons will now take on the Blues on Boxing Day at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park and then host the capital city team at Rodney Parade on New Years Day.
Welsh international wing Tom Prydie commented: “The Welsh derbies are the games that everyone watches.
“We really enjoy Christmas and New Year and they are great games to be involved in. It’s a lot of games in a short space of time but it’s something we look forward to.
“The Blues have done well in Europe like us so they’ll have some confidence from that and it will be tough but as players we can’t wait.”
