The Ospreys go into the game unbeaten after two good performances against the Scarlets and Blues whilst the young Dragons showed resolved in a hard fought draw last time out against the Scarlets.
The Dragons have made a number of changes to the side last week with Joe Davies and Lewis Johnson coming into the second row, and Newport High School product Connor Goode taking over at 10. This is the last game in the U18s tournament before a mid season break.
Head Coach Byron Hayward said, "The game against the Ospreys on Wednesday will be a tough challenge. They are unbeaten in two games and we have been pretty disappointed with certain aspects of our first two games. As a squad, we have set ourselves high expectations and have been self-critical in review. However, there have been some good individual performances and we are progressing each week. Would would like to go into the mid-season break with a good performance which would set us up for the rest of the season".
James Chapron, Performance Manager for the Dragons also commented, "Byron and his coaching team have been working particularly hard over the summer to put this squad in a position to compete. Whilst the results may not have been to their liking, there have been some positives to take out of each performance and now all the team has to do is show the right mindset for the full 70 minutes. This programme is about exposing players to a high performance environment and high performance coaching, and I certainly think all players will have benefited from being coached by the likes of Byron Hayward, Rob Sidoli and Lewis Evans".
