DRAGONS TRAIN OUT AND ABOUT

Newport Gwent Dragons will de-camp from their Rodney Parade home for a number of open pre season training sessions ahead of their 2012/2013 campaign.


Newport Gwent Dragons will de-camp from their Rodney Parade home for a number of open pre season training sessions ahead of their 2012/2013 campaign.

The Dragons will visit club grounds throughout the region as part of their ongoing preparations for their RaboDirect PRO12, Amlin Challenge Cup and LV= Cup campaigns.

These visits will take place over a series of Tuesdays at the end of July and throughout August and fans are invited to come along and see their heroes in action as they are put through their pre season paces by the Dragons coaching staff.

Dragons Director of Rugby Robert Beale said “This is a great opportunity for us to take the region’s professional team on the road and for our supporters out in the region to get up close to our players.”

First up for the Dragons squad is Caerphilly RFC on the 31st July starting at about midday. This will be followed a week after by a trip to Blaenavon RFC on the 7th August and returning to Newport for their final open session at Rodney Parade on the 21st August. There will also be on open session on 14th August with the venue to be announced.

All sessions are free to attend, begin at midday and will run through till approximately 3pm.

31st July – Caerphilly RFC, Virginia Park
7th August – Blaenavon RFC, Recreation Ground
14th August – TBA
21st August – Newport RFC, Rodney Parade
