YOUR SKIPPER'S SHOUT - Ospreys AWC

It’s an honour to be leading the Dragons for tonight’s match.

It’s an honour to be leading the Dragons for tonight’s match.
We all realise that the recent performances have not been good enough and we plan to put that right tonight. Every player and coach here is always striving to be better as individuals and to make the Dragons into a better side. Every game we play is winnable and we have to put right the errors of the past few weeks to start securing those victories again.
Tonight’s match is very important for building momentum towards the business end of the season and if we can concentrate on getting our individual performances back up to scratch, we are very close to being as good as we were before the festive period.
Although the Ospreys have a lot of players on international duty tonight, they still have a lot of quality personnel to select from and tonight’s game is going to be tough. A Welsh derby is always going to be fiery and tonight should prove no exception.
On behalf of the team I’d like to say a big thank you to Peter Bracken who has been with us for the last 3 months and covered our front row injuries. He’s a really genuine guy as well a team player and will be missed (although once his missus sees his new haircut, he may be on the first ferry back here!) Also thanks to Gareth Williams who has been with us from Harlequins since the beginning of the month to cover our scrum half injury problems. With a small squad, we do get hit hard by injuries and we are lucky to have had such dedicated players join us when it happens.
In addition to Danny and Luke, Alex Walker is going on international duty having been called up for the Welsh sevens squad. The team are off to tournaments in New Zealand and Vegas (and with Alex’s carefully styled bouffant, there’s always a chance he’ll follow his dreams of being a Vegas showgirl instead of a rugby player...) The whole team wishes all three guys the very best of luck for their tournaments.
Congratulations to Gavin Thomas who got his 50th Heineken Cup Cap recently and was presented with said cap after the Gloucester game.
On a final note, I would just like to personally thank Lewis Evans for helping me out last month when I had car trouble. I’ve always been a fan of Transformers and it was pretty special to be able to travel to work and back in Optimus Prime!
Enjoy the match and thank you for your support
