“I want to play on the wing for Wales” - Dragons Inspire Rugby in the Region
So popular and outstanding were the last instalments of Dragons Rugby Skills Camps that one young participant pledged to take up rugby and work towards a career on the left-wing for his region and country, his dad told the Newport Gwent Dragons.
Tim Andrew – father of Jed – enrolled his son for the Dragons Easter Camp and has since snapped up the opportunity for the second time in just few months to register the budding-winger for this year’s Dragons Summer Camps.
Summer Camp Manager Mike Sage spoke to the grateful father. Mr Andrew said:
“My son enjoyed the session to the extent he wants to take up Rugby & play left wing, eventually for Wales. I would be grateful if I could reserve Jed a place on the session at the start of August.”
He kindly added: “A noble ambition and a job well done by your team!”
The Dragons, in association with Finning CAT, rugby skills camps return to Rodney Parade and around the Gwent region this Summer where youngsters will have the chance to brush up on their rugby skills with the help of the Region’s community development coaches. There is also the unique and exciting opportunity to meet next season’s Dragons players.
This is a fantastic chance for junior rugby fans to develop their skills, pick up tips and learn all the latest techniques from the game. There are four three-day camps available at a cost of just £54 and three one-day courses at £20. All participants will receive an exclusive t-shirt, course certificate and a complimentary Dragons match ticket.
Dragons Mike Sage said:
“Each time round, our camps are a huge success with everyone involved. As a region we are proud of the opportunities that they bring to children within the region and delight in the enjoyment that they take home with them after each session.
“Yet, as young Jed proves, the camps are not only massively enjoyable but are also educational, bringing discipline and skills to the forefront in a fun and friendly environment.”
