Jamie Ringer's 100th appearance for The Dragons didn't end in a winning one as The Dragons lost at Stradey Park last Friday night.

The Dragons were hit by injuries and indiscipline while the Scarlets leap-frogged them in the Magners League table to go four points clear of the Men of Gwent as the run in to the end of the season begins in earnest.

The Scarlets took the lead on the 18th minute when The Dragons were outdone by a cruel bounce of the ball. Dwayne Peel kicked ahead and the ball evaded the covering Kevin Morgan and Ceiron Thomas followed up his kick to beat Aled Brew to the touchdown.

Ceri Sweeney missed the opportunity to reduce the deficit when his penalty attempt from 40m went wide and despite pressing from a catch and drive from the lineout The Dragons were unable to get the elusive try.

The visitors were then hit with front row injury problems with hooker Ben Daly leaving the field with a thigh strain and prop Adam Black was limping also with a leg injury. Despite these problems The Dragons scored their first points through a scum when they were awarded a penalty that Sweeney landed.

Sweeney's attempt was cancelled out when Thomas landed one for his side and The Dragons were reduced to 14 men when Richard Wilkes on for Daly was sent to the sin bin for deliberately killing the ball and the referee had no option but to introduce uncontested scrums into the game.

Sweeney reduced the half time deficit to four points when he landed a penalty before the interval.

Two minutes into the second half and The Dragons were down to 13 when Aled Brew was shown the yellow card for slowing the ball down.

When Wilkes returned to the field, the Scarlets cut loose and scored 15 unanswered points, Thomas landed a penalty while Barry Davies and James Bater both scored tries.

The Scarlets secured the bonus point when Mark Jones scored in the corner.

The Dragons had the final say when Kevin Morgan crossed for an unconverted try, however, the win at Stradey still evades them.
