Newport Gwent Dragons are delighted to announce the signing of promising centre Rhodri Gomer-Davies from Northampton Saints.
The 24-year old has been with the Guinness Premiership side for three seasons and commenting on why he has linked up with The Dragons he said, "I have joined The Dragons as they struck me as a very ambitious side. I am impressed with the development system they have at the region and how they bring the younger players through the academy. I feel I can further develop my rugby career by coming to the region. A number of friends of mine play here which is another reason for me joining as was the friendly atmosphere which greeted me from everyone at The Dragons."
Centre Gomer-Davies is the second player to join The Dragons from a Guinness Premiership side following the signing of scrum half Andy Williams from Bath.
Head Coach Paul Turner commented that the signing of a young up and coming centre will add to the squad in a beneficial way and strengthen The Dragons squad. He said, "We are pleased to announce that Rhodri Gomer-Davies has joined the squad and welcome another player of Welsh qualification back into Welsh rugby. He is a very ambitious and talented player and at just 24 years of age he has a bright future ahead of him and we look forward to him fulfilling his potential with us."
Gomer-Davies will link up with The Dragons squad for pre season training in June.
