Heineken Cup Champions for the Dragons in the EDF

The draw for next seasons EDF Energy Cup pits the Dragons against a formidable trio: London Wasps, Newcastle Falcons and Gloucester

Kath McCarthy | 27/06/2007

It's all change in the 2007-2008 EDF Energy Cup for the Newport Gwent Dragons with a fresh set of opponents for the Men of Gwent this time around. The last two seasons have seen The Dragons face the same opposition, however this year they will be lining up against current Heineken Cup holders London Wasps at Rodney Parade. They will also take on Guinness Premiership runners up Gloucester at home, while their one away fixture takes them up north to the Newcastle Falcons.

Speaking on the Dragons group Head Coach Paul Turner said, "It's a mouth watering draw for our supporters; the Heineken Cup champions visit us at the end of October followed by a trip up to Newcastle, which is sure to be a test. Kingston Park is a place we have visited in another competition not so many years ago. Another one of the giants of the Guinness Premiership in Gloucester also visit Rodney Parade, bringing with them a hugely passionate following. All three are clubs with famous histories. It is good to have a change in opposition and its always good for Welsh teams who will be licking their lips and looking forward to playing against the English sides."

Included in a season ticket package is entry to the two EDF Energy Cup home games. Season tickets are on sale now and are available from the Rodney Parade ticket office by calling 01633 674990
