Dragons and Wales full-back Kevin Morgan will miss the RBS Six Nations Championship visit to France after suffering from a broken jaw against Scotland at Murrayfield last weekend. Morgan, who withdrew from the field for blood in the second half of Wales' defeat to the Scots, has had two separate x-rays on his mouth, the second of which today showed a break.
"Kevin was reviewed by a dentist back in Wales on Monday following a further x-ray and then referred to a facial surgeon who identified a fracture within his jaw bone," said Wales team physio Mark Davies. "For best management and with the aim of achieving the earliest return to action it has been decided that Kevin will undergo an operation on Wednesday. "He will not be available to face France and his availability for the rest of the Championship is uncertain, but we are not ruling out a return at this stage."
