This week sees the Area Championship contested to decide six area winners, these winners will then go into a play off at the end of March to decide the two final teams. The competition involves Year 5/6 pupils and in a squad of ten at least three must be girls and one must be on the field at all times.
Speaking on the competition Dragons Community Project Manager Mike Sage said, “Gateway Rugby aims to promote enthusiasm and enjoyment amongst the children and to positively introduce them to the skills and the game of touch rugby. Through this competition the children will have the opportunity to play against schools from around the Region.
“This year hosts the fourth annual Touch Rugby Competition, but the first that will represent the entire Region. All participating schools will allow their pupils to test their skills in a game situation and compete to become crowned Warburtons Challenge Touch Rugby Champions 2006.”

7th March (Caldicot Comprehensive) – Magor, Rogiet, The Dell, Undy, Langstone, Llanmartin, Casnewydd, St Marys Chepstow. (postponed until next week due to wet weather)
