A Taste of Italy comes to Rodney Parade

A taste of Italy comes to Rodney Parade on Friday night when the Wales U21s take on Italy U21s.

The Welsh youngsters have got their Six Nations campaign back on track with two wins from three. Their two wins saw them defeat Scotland and Ireland and they remain on course to clinch the Championship.

Fly half James Hook has been in superb form, staking a place for the national squad and with some commentators calling for him to be included in the senior set up.

The Welsh team have been ably led by captain and No.8 Tom Smith. Speaking on the fact that all Wales' U21 home games are at one venue he said, "It is nice to have all our home matches in one place especially as we have more home games this season. To have one venue means the players can get used to the ground and it was a great venue last year for the Six Nations opener against England and we look forward to the same level of support as we had last season.

"We are looking to play an open game very similar to the senior side in that we look to push the ball wide. We have showed patches of that but we will look to play more of that style for the remainder of the competition. We will opt for a running and attacking style and get the ball moving wide more."

Tickets for the Wales U21 match against Italy are available from the Rodney Parade ticket office by calling 01633 674990.
