Director of Dragons Rugby Dean Ryan admits he cannot wait to ’get my teeth into what the challenge is’ after being unveiled by the region on Tuesday lunchtime.
Ryan will move to Rodney Parade this summer to take up the new role with full responsible for all rugby matters on and off the pitch.
The 52-year-old - who becomes a Board member of the organisation as part of this brand-new position – will also contribute to the wider strategic direction of the Dragons long-term and is excited by the challenges ahead.
“I’m really excited to be here,” he told Dragons TV. “There have been some conversations over the last couple of months so I am really pleased to get them to a conclusion so I can get my teeth into what the challenge is here.
“There is a huge amount to do, a huge amount to listen to and to understand what this unique challenge is to move it forward.
“I’ve worked for a long time in the English Premiership so I am looking forward to working in a new competition and a different environment.
“What excites me here is the size of the region, the talent that comes through that and it is our responsibility and our challenge to get that host part right so we can really fulfil its potential.”
