Lewis - We owe fans big home display

02/03/2019

Fly half Josh Lewis admits Dragons owe the fans a performance when they face Ulster Rugby in the Guinness PRO14 at Rodney Parade on Sunday (kick-off 3pm).

Lewis will start at ten as Dragons look to bring the curtain down on the home season in Newport with a victory.

And the 26-year-old knows the team most perform as they bid to make amends for the heavy defeat in Italy last weekend.

“It was a tough weekend and we had to come in and deal with the consequences, it’s how we bounce back now,” he said. “We’ve got to draw a line under it and that wasn’t us last weekend.

“Last time that we played at home it was a really good team performance and we are back for our last game of the season at Rodney Parade.

“Not only do we owe ourselves something but our fans as well. We don’t want to finish on a downer and have to put a big shift in.

"It wasn’t good enough last week," he added. "We had some really good performances over Christmas and we do know that the quality is there, it was just a bad day at the office.

"We can’t put our fingers on why but hopefully we have a good weekend coming.

"Ulster are a top side. We’ve trained well and now we have got to get our processes right and cut out the errors."
