Lennon can be hit for Dragons

01/03/2019

Head Coach Ceri Jones has backed young back row Lennon Greggains to make an impression if he gets Guinness PRO14 action this weekend.

Dragons play the final league game of the season at Rodney Parade on Sunday (kick-off 3pm) when they entertain Ulster Rugby.

Jones will be without back row trio Ollie Griffiths, Nic Cudd and James Benjamin for the clash – but has backed Wales Under-20 ace Greggains to be a hit if called upon after he was retained by the region this week.

The 20-year-old from Newport made his debut at Ulster last season and could make his first senior outing of the campaign after recovering fully from a hamstring injury.

“We have retained both Taine Basham and Lennon Greggains this week,” revealed Jones.

“Lennon is tough. He is a real competitor, a good leader, he puts himself about and is a raw blindside. It will be good to see him get an opportunity.

“He can play across the back row, which is very fortunate for us, but I see him more of a six going forward.”
