Director of Dragons Rugby Dean Ryan wants players and fans alike to feel a strong connection to the region - making it ‘special’ and ‘infectious’ to be part of the Dragons going forward.
Ryan revealed his intention to sit down with the playing squad to discuss their hopes and aspirations.
And he believes it is vital that supporters also feel part of that journey as Dragons build towards a bright future.
“The first thing I’m going to be doing is sitting down with the players and finding out what makes them excited about being part of the Dragons, what do they want for it in the future,” said Ryan.
“We’ve got to make this something that fans want to get down to on a Friday evening and watch. We’ve got to make this a place that gets you excited, that fans feel connected to.
“We’ve got to engage with the whole region and what makes it special to be here.
“Professional players can go wherever they want in their career. The days of staying at one club are long gone,” added Ryan.
“Because of that we’ve got to make this something different. We’ve got challenges to face, but we’ve got to make it truly special to be a part of the Dragons.
“We all want success and the quicker we can get it the better. But it’s infectious if supporters can see elements they are connected to and they know the players represent that. That’s something we can all get behind.”
