Senior stars Harri Keddie and Chris Coleman took time out of pre-season preparations this week to support a walking rugby session in Blaenavon as part of a community engagement campaign.
Torfaen Public Services Board hosted the session as part of a wider campaign to engage the parents and grandparents of pupils at Blaenavon VC Heritage School in health education in the early years.
A series of activities - in which people had the opportunity to give their views on what can help children in Blaenavon grow up healthy - culminated in a walking rugby taster session on Monday.
Pupils and staff from the school were joined by representatives from the community and Dragons stars Keddie and Coleman during the session.
Brad Hayward, Commercial Executive at Dragons, said: “It was fantastic to go along with Harri and Chris to meet some fans and support the community engagement campaign.
“Our thanks go to Torfaen Public Services Board for the kind invite and we wish them well with such a worthwhile and important project in Blaenavon.
Teacher, Leanne Jones, added: “It was a very enjoyable afternoon and walking rugby is something that people of all ages can do. The children are very excited to be asked what they think can help them, and other children, grow up healthy and have come up with lots of ideas for us to consider.”
