Dragons set to train with Army

Ben Mottram | 28/01/2019

Head Coach Ceri Jones has targeted a big end to the season for Dragons – by putting the players through their paces with the armed forces!

Dragons are now not in action until Friday, February 15 when they face Edinburgh at Murrayfield.

However, before that fixture Jones is ready to get his Dragons firing on all cylinders as he looks for a big finish to the Guinness PRO14 campaign.

And that will also mean sessions with the Welsh Guards at Power Athletics, the Caerphilly gym run by Head of Strength & Conditioning Ryan Harris.

"The boys have a few days off," said Jones. "We will then go off-site for a little bit of work with the army.

"We then have a 10-day build-up into our next game, we will refresh the boys and go again.

"We have opportunities now to go away from home and get the monkey off our back, that is something that we have spoken about as a squad.

"We go up against the Ospreys and try to do the double over them, which would be very nice, and then we look ahead to a tour to South Africa and then Judgement Day.

"There are not that many games left in the season now but we have just got to keep putting in performances and hopefully get results."
