Front rower Harris makes a return to the line-up and is one of ten changes to the side that secured a record-equaling bonus point victory over Timisoara Saracens last week.
Harris is joined up front by the recalled Lloyd Fairbrother and they will pack down with skipper Richard Hibbard.
A new-look back row will see Aaron Wainwright, this week named in the Wales squad for the Six Nations, join forces with Ollie Griffiths and Harrison Keddie.
Zane Kirchner returns in the No.15 jersey while wing Jared Rosser is recalled. Hallam Amos will occupy the other flank after his try-double last week.
Jarryd Sage and Adam Warren reunite in midfield while scrum half Rhodri Williams gets the nod to play at half back with Jason Tovey. T
Tovey will start the game just five short of clocking up 1,000 points for Dragons in all competitions.
Fly half Josh Lewis is named among the replacements for the Round 6 clash on home soil against the Pool 1 and Top14 league leaders.
“It’s a massive challenge for us, but we are excited by it. We’ve got to being our best game and look forward to it,” said Head coach Ceri Jones.
“Clermont are right up there at the top of the French league and have really shone in this competition. Whatever team they send over it will be a tough game.
“We’re looking forward to getting them to Rodney Parade, testing ourselves against some quality opposition, and then hopefully that will prepare us going forward into our next run of league games.
“We’re looking to keep the momentum that we’ve built up. We haven’t always got the wins we wanted, but there have been some good performances and we’ve got to keep that going.”
