Wales Women coach Rowland Phillips praised the talent on show as Dragons Women took part in the Regional Super 12s at Llandovery RFC last Saturday.
Dragons Women were one of six teams – alongside two from the Cardiff Blues region, Ospreys, RGC and Scarlets – that played a series of 12-a-side matches at Church Bank.
The Super 12s followed a five-week conditioning and skills block and Wales Head Coach Phillips was pleased by the rugby on show.
"I've been really impressed how they've adapted to this format, there's been some really good stuff on show.
"We looked at how we could give girls more space to be able to play heads up rugby and attack.
"There's plenty of new talent, people that we're already aware of, people who've come through the emerging talent programme, girls who have moved through the under-18s.
"This is how the game is, the young talented players are coming through very quickly and they deserve the opportunity, but also put pressure on the senior players to be at their best."
