Hooker Elliot Dee has revealed his excitement ahead of Judgement Day VII and facing Scarlets at the Principality Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The 25-year-old captained Dragons on his return last time out against Toyota Cheetahs and expressed his and the squad’s determination to fight for the club’s first ever victory at the national stadium.
“We’ve talked about it, we want to fire some shots this time and want to end the season on a high,” said Dee.
“I think first and foremost; we want to give a good account of ourselves and we’re certainly not coming down to roll over - there’s a never-say-die attitude within the group.
“We’re going to come down on Saturday and try to put out our best performance and hopefully people can see a lot of fight in that.
“That’s something that we want to pride ourselves on going forward: we want to be the team that is hard to play against and don’t want anyone to see us as easy targets.”
Dee last played at the national stadium when Wales were crowned 2019 Six Nations Grand Slam champions in March and he highlighted that the expected large crowd will provide additional motivation on the pitch.
“It’s obviously a dream for a lot of players to play at the national stadium and Judgement Day is always a great occasion,” he continued.
“You feed off the crowd and it gives you that extra motivation, being part of such an important and well-known event.
“It raises your game, a sort of extra 10%, and makes you proud to be Welsh and proud to come from the region.”
