Dragons jet to Romania on Thursday evening ahead of the Pool 1 opening clash with RCM Timisoara Saracens at the Dan Paltinisanu Stadium on Saturday afternoon (12.30pm kick-off BST).
Cudd knows more than most what lies ahead having been part of the Dragons side that travelled to face Bucharest Wolves in December 2014.
Dragons secured a bonus point on that occasion, but they had to battle back from 10-0 down early on and Cudd believes that shows that no team can be taken lightly.
“You can’t be complacent in this competition. From my experience last time in Romania, they started the game very well and took the lead,” he said.
“No team is a walkover in Europe. You have got to work hard for your wins, especially out there when you are in strange territory.
“If you look at the teams in our group, we need to target this game and look for maximum points,” he added. “But first and foremost, we go there with the mindset of winning the game.
“They will be physical and there will be a lot of forward play with maul drives. They have also got some big backs to hit it up.
“We will analyse them and see where their strengths and weaknesses are."
