Benjamin looks forward to Hong Kong clash

James Benjamin admits there is real excitement in the squad ahead of the friendly clash with Hong Kong at Ebbw Vale on Monday evening (kick-off 7.30pm).

Dragons face the first of a double-header of international clashes this autumn – they also face Russia next month - as they head to Eugene Cross Park to face Rugby World Cup 2019 hopefuls Hong Kong.

“We’re looking forward to the game and they have done extremely well to make it to the qualifying tournament for the World Cup,” said Benjamin.

“It’s going to be a tough game and they will have a lot of quality; when I went to the Hong Kong Sevens I experienced that their sevens set-up has come on a long way.

“It’s another chance for the Celtic Cup squad, that has a blend of young players coming through and senior boys who aren’t playing.

“We are playing the same strategy and probably given more licence to play.

“The Celtic Cup has been a great experience and hopefully it will be seamless for the boys who are going up to the first team.”

Tickets for the game at Eugene Cross Park on Monday evening (kick-off 7.30pm), are available on the gate, priced £5 for adults, FREE for under 16s and also FREE for 2018/19 Dragons members.
