The Men of Gwent kick off the new campaign against Benetton Rugby on Saturday 1st September, in the first of six Saturday fixtures to begin the season for Bernard Jackman’s side, who will be the last of the four Welsh regions to start their PRO14 campaign in the new primetime Saturday evening slot of 7.30pm.
The Italians impressed last season as they pushed for a play-off spot, but the Dragons will be hoping to get their season underway with a win in front of their home crowd.

The following week Southern Kings return to Newport for a Saturday 3pm kick off, then the Dragons travel to Dublin to take on PRO14 and Champions Cup double winners Leinster before another Welsh-Italian clash versus Zebre at the home of the Dragons on Saturday 22nd September, kick off 5.15pm, which will be the first of at least four games televised on S4C after they secured free-to-air rights until 2021 earlier today.
The eagerly anticipated return of the new season continues as the Dragons head north of the border for the first time in the 2018/19 Guinness Pro14 season to take on 2015 champions Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun Stadium in round five, but it’s the big one that many supporters will be looking out for back home on Saturday 6th October as local rivals Cardiff Blues are the visitors to Rodney Parade (kick off 5.15pm).
Two rounds of European Challenge Cup rugby follow, with the Dragons set to find out in what order they will face Northampton Saints, Clermont Auvergne and Romanian team Timisoara Saracens within the next fortnight as EPCR determines the final schedule following the PRO14 fixture release.
Back to the PRO14 and for the first time, the dates and times for all Dragons home games at Rodney Parade have been finalised before a ball has been kicked, with the new broadcasters Premier Sports providing supporters with certainty in their scheduling for the first 17 rounds of the tournament.
Premier Sports will broadcast every game for every team live in HD into homes in the UK, with Eir Sports wining the rights for Ireland and SuperSport in South Africa. FreeSports the free-to-air TV channel available across all digital platforms will also broadcast one match from the PRO14 schedule each weekend and S4C will also have rights to screen one match with Welsh language commentary during each round of action.
The Dragons face ten home games in the PRO14 with the conference structure retained and cross-conference fixtures flipped from last year, with the 21 round league stage again concluding with the Judgement Day clash against the Scarlets at the Principality Stadium.
There’s an additional three more European encounters in the group stage, including the clashes with the heavyweights Northampton and Clermont, plus pre-season friendly with Northampton Saints on Friday 17 August at Rodney Parade, which can all be enjoyed from as little as £139 a year with Season Membership.
