"Massively Proud Day" - Dee

Elliot Dee's experience of leading the Dragons out at Principality Stadium didn't go as he wanted, but it remains a proud moment for the Hooker.

The Scarlets extended their winning run against the Men of Gwent, with victory at the national stadium to disappoint Dragons players and supporters alike as the curtain fell on the 2017/18 season.

"I’m immensely proud to have led the team out at the Principality Stadium. Since I was a young boy and I used to go and watch the Dragons it was all I wanted to do was to play for the Dragons, so to get to lead the boys on such a special occasion was massive to me, massive for my family."

After the first half ended 7-3, two tries for the West Walians whilst the Dragons were down to 14 saw them pull away on the scoreboard. The Scarlets dominated the territory and possession stats and up front with Dee explaining the difficulties the Dragons faced in the scrum.

"We knew Scarlets were going to target our scrum after what happened when we first met down there in January. Lloyd (Fairbrother) our starting tight head pulled out before the start of the game so we knew we were up against it.

"First half the picture was painted in the referee’s mind and then when the yellow card comes it was a big ask for Chris (Coleman) to come on to make his debut under that pressure and the better team won the battle today.

"Although not the way I would have wanted to go it was still a massively proud day," added Dee.
