The 23-year-old linked up with the Welsh Region today (Monday) at their Ystrad Mynach training base, as they prepare for their European Rugby Challenge Cup clash against Newcastle Falcons.
The versatile player, who can play in the second row and the back row, progressed through the Cardiff Blues age grade system at U16s and U18s level. Following this, Sheekey went on to represent Wales at U20s level and he made his senior debut for the Region in 2015 in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
He also has over 30 appearances under his belt for Welsh Premiership side Cardiff RFC.
Dragons Head Coach, Bernard Jackman commented: “James Sheekey is a very tough, abrasive and hardworking back row that also can play lock.
“He is someone that I believe will thrive in our environment and as coaches we are all looking forward to helping him develop.”
