This will include leading gym and pitch based conditioning sessions with the squad and the collection of data to support this as well as working closely with the Newport RFC Medical Team and Technical Staff.
Contact time with Newport RFC will be approximately 10-12 hours per week and will be mainly evenings and weekends.
This contract will run until the end of the 2016/2017 season and has the potential to be renewed for further seasons.

- Gym specific monitoring and screening
- Recovery Strategies.
- Performance Nutrition.
- Individual and group rehabilitation
Essential:
- BSc or equivalent in Sport, Exercise & Science / Strength and Conditioning
- Strength & Conditioning Qualification (e.g. UKSCA / NSCA) or showing the ability to gain an accreditation within six months.
- A passion and desire for S&C as well as rugby as a sport.
- Excellent presentation and IT (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.
- Fully committed, with strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong program design & knowledge of Strength & Conditioning techniques and principles.
Desirable:
- MSc or currently working towards an MSc in Strength & Conditioning.
- Specific practical knowledge in a collision sport.
- Good knowledge and awareness of Athlete Monitoring Systems.
- Knowledge of Injury Pathology and Rehabilitation Techniques.
