The youngster converted his own try to take a win of 22-20 against a difficult Yorkshire Carnegie outfit at the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach.

The Dragons PS opened their account early with a try in the far corner through wing Joe Goodchild, which Arwel Robson didn’t convert.

The English outfit soon added their first set of points through a try by Brandon Staples just before the half-time whistle. But similarly to the Dragons PS they failed to convert which saw a score of 5-5 heading into the break. However before the half-time whistle was blown the Dragons PS suffered a yellow card, which was handed to Henri Williams. This saw Yorkshire take advantage and knock over a penalty kick to take the lead at half time.

Half Time: Dragons PS 5 – Yorkshire Carnegie 8

With only 14-men on the pitch, the Dragons PS struggled with the Yorkshire attack and just two minutes into the second half they were over for their second try of the afternoon.  Chris Walker claimed the Yorkshire try with Warren Seals converting, taking a lead of 15-5.

The Dragons PS managed to narrow the gap through the boot of Arwel Robson as he slotted a tricky kick over to see the scores move to 15-8 to the opposition.

On the hour mark, substitute Nathan Hudd came off the bench and made an immediate impact and went over for a try, with Robson kicking the conversion to even the scores up.

The referee went on to penalise Yorkshire and they saw yellow, but even with a man advantage the Dragons PS couldn’t hold them back seeing Rob O’Donnell slip through the defence and go over in the 71st minute. With the try not being converted the Dragons PS needed a converted try to take the win and through youngster Arwel Robson they managed to do this. He crossed in the corner of the pitch which meant that he had to nailed tricky conversion, which he did to see the Dragons PS take the win of 22-20.
