The team have stripped the surface of organic matter and removed unwanted shallow rooting grasses, such as annual meadow grass, whilst retaining the deeper rooting perennial rye grasses. The pitch will then be deep spiked with a verti drain and then a fertiliser will be applied as will 300kg of grass seed. That will then be topped off with 80 tonnes of medium sand.
This season the pitch has been flawless, after having the drainage fixed, and this facelift will reinforce all of the good work that was done last year.
