Rodney Parade is delighted to announce that it will host an Easter double header!

Katie Vizard | 10/03/2015

This regional extravaganza will take place on Saturday 4th April and will see the Dragons take on Cardiff Blues KO 12:45 and Newport RFC take on Cross Keys KO 3:30pm.

In what is set to be a fantastic occasion, we would like to encourage all Dragons, Cross Keys and Newport RFC supporters to come along and show their Gwent colours.

Important Information for fans:

  • All tickets for the Dragons v Blues game will be valid for the Premiership match

  • Season Ticket Holders and life members from Newport RFC will access the Newport RFC v Cross Keys match as normal.

  • Season Ticket Holders who hold a Newport RFC only Season Ticket will be offered the same discount as Dragons Season Ticket Holders for the Dragons v Blues match (£2 discount only)

  • Whilst all Newport and Cross Keys supporters will be encouraged to attend the Dragons/ Blues game, those who don’t want to will be able to purchase tickets for the Newport vs. Cross Keys at the normal rate of £10 and allowed access to the ground 30 minutes after the final whistle

  • The Newport RFC v Cross Keys match will have unallocated seats, but Rodney Parade stewards will employ reasonable endeavours to ensure Season Ticket Holders have their existing seats.

Rodney Parade would like to thank the Newport Gwent Dragons, Newport RFC and Cross Keys in allowing this to happen and for their continued support. In what should be one of the biggest dates in the region’s calendar, Rodney Parade will endeavour to make this a success.

Rodney Parade CEO, Stuart Davies commented: “The double header is a fantastic occasion for rugby supporters throughout our region and an opportunity to showcase Rodney Parade as a great rugby venue.

“We are working hard to make this Easter Saturday full of entertainment and it’s sure to be exciting day for all four teams. Tickets for the event are on sale and I would urge anyone who wants to come along to buy their tickets now as we are expecting them to be in high demand.”

Chairman of Newport RFC, Will Godfrey commented: “This is a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on the Principality Premiership.

“Historically derbies between Newport and Cross Keys are always special affairs and have the opportunities to share the day with the quarter final – will make it a special day for the supporters of all teams.”

Cross Keys head coach, Greg Woods added: “I think that this is a great opportunity for our players to show off their skills in front of a large crowd.

“This is one of the biggest matches in our calendar and this will make it an even bigger occasion at Rodney Parade. I would encourage our fans to come along and support both games as it’s sure to be two great games of rugby.”
