He has been here since he was 16 and made his 80th appearance for the welsh region last weekend. Hughes came up through the academy and also played for premiership sides Bedwas and Newport RFC. Hughes went onto make his debut in 2010 for the Dragons but felt that it was time to begin a new challenge with another club.
On leaving the Dragons, Hughes commented, “I would like to thank all the staff, coaches, players and fans at Rodney parade that have supported me over the years here at the Dragons.
“I am looking forward to the new challenge at Bristol and wish the boys here at the Dragons every success. I am excited about the challenge of taking on new teams in a new league, alongside a new stadium and fans.”
Director of rugby Lyn Jones added, “I'd like to thank Adam from all at Newport Gwent Dragons for his service over the years. I hope he excels in his new challenge.”
