The Gwent Region will enjoy their first trip of the season to the training ground of Bristol RFC, Clifton RFC as they play their first pre-season game of 2014/15.
The newly named skipper cannot wait to get started, “It will be really nice to get back into playing rugby.
“It’s been nine weeks of pre-season for me whereas in France we would’ve already played 3 or 4 weeks, so it’s the longest pre-season I have had in three years.”
Byrne will lead the men of Gwent out against Bristol RFC after being named Jones’ squad, “I just want to get the ball in hand and I am looking forward to getting out there.
“After nine weeks of pre-season training, I am ready for some game time.”
