Evans captains Dragons team against Treviso

26-year-old Lewis Evans, who captained the side last season, has stepped in to take over from Welsh international Andrew Coombs who has not been named in the starting XV through injury.

Director of rugby Lyn Jones has made an additional three changes to the side that faced Edinburgh Rugby last week at Rodney Parade. Jones has put his faith in the back three who remain unchanged with Dan Evans at fullback, open side wing Tom Prydie and blindside wing Hallam Amos. The centre pairing of Pat Leach and Jack Dixon also remains intact with no changes there. There has been one change in the halfbacks as Jason Tovey keeps his place, scrum half Wayne Evans replaces Richie Rees as he is moved to the bench.

For the third time in a row Jones has put his trust in the same front row utilising Phil Price, Wales under 20s hooker Elliot Dee and experienced tight head prop Duncan Bell. They are joined by a young second row as Cory Hill steps in alongside Matthew Screech, in the absence of Andrew Coombs. Captain Lewis Evans retains his place a flanker in the back row alongside Nic Cudd and British and Irish Lion Taulupe Faletau.

There have been four changes to the bench as Rob Sidoli, Richie Rees, Kris Burton and Ross Wardle join Sam Parry, Owen Evans, Bruce Douglas and Jevon Groves.
