Representatives of Newport County, Rodney Parade LTD, Newport RFC and Newport Gwent Dragons met to today for further talks regarding the proposed ground share at Rodney Parade for next season.
Following this meeting, it has been agreed to extend the deadline for agreement until early next week.
Although talks are advanced and most of the challenges associated with the deal have been addressed, there are still some outstanding issues and it was felt by all parties that the additional time was necessary.
“These have been long and complex talks,” said Rodney Parade LTD Chief Executive Chris Brown. “All parties are keen to make this happen and have shown a great deal of cooperation but it is crucial to ensure that the interests of all parties are protected and that this proposal enriches all of those involved.”
