Recently, Coleg Gwent, Nash campus held a week-long schedule of events for learners to undertake as part of their tutorial enrichment programme to promote the Welsh language and culture with the aim of building and developing a sense of well-being and citizenship. These were themed days covering Welsh language, history, food, St David’s Day and a Welsh sports day.
Aaron Maybourne and Kimberley Williams were two of the many ILS learners who took part in the rugby skills session with Stefan Jones and Michael Poole from the Newport Gwent Dragons.
The sports day was a great success supported again by the Dragons community department and Dragons players who really made a positive impact.
“The Dragons really made the event special for our young people and they must be applauded for all the support they give our establishment throughout the year”, said a very happy Miss Tremaynne Thomas, Secretary to the Directorate.
Learners were also able to obtain autographs from both players along with a complimentary ticket.
