Newport Gwent Dragons’ 17 year old centre Jack Dixon has stepped up an age grade and will make his debut for Wales Under-20s in their 6 Nations clash with Italy in Colwyn Bay tomorrow night.
Jack impressed when coming on for his Dragons debut in Saturday’s game against Munster and will start in the centre for a much changed U-20s.
Fellow Dragon Jaime Sollis joins Jack in the starting line-up after being named at hooker while Jonathan Evans and Ieuan Jones are both amongst the replacements.
Head Coach Danny Wilson and his coaching team have refreshed the selection of the side after that heavy defeat. "We've made some exciting changes to the side including 17-year-old Jack Dixon who played for the Dragons against Munster on Friday starting in the centre with Nathan Edwards who returns after injury," said Wilson.
"The changes are based on player performance in the premiership and at training and these players have earned the opportunity with our long term aim of viewing different combinations for World Cup selection.
