Luke Charteris officially joined the Wales RBS 6 Nations training squad today making him available for selection for the home clash with Italy at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
Dragons lock Charteris game through the Dragons' 24-14 defeat to Munster at Rodney Parade on Saturday night, his first game back after returning from the Rugby World Cup with a wrist injury.
Luke provides Gatland with extra options in the second row, an area where Wales had an injury crisis at the start of the tournament.
Gatland names his side to face Italy at 1pm tomorrow (Tuesday).
