The Dragons under 16's lost last night against The Scarlets at a wind swept Parc Y Scarlets 25 -8. Playing with the wind first half the Dragons kicked an early penalty but from there on it was one way traffic with the Scarlets playing to the conditions. A lack of possession cost the Dragons dearly and they conceded a try after a period of sustained pressure. It was only a Connor Goode interception that enabled the Dragons to be leading 8 -7 half time. After the break a couple of basic errors let the scarlets stretch their lead but a good period of pressure and tenacious defence kept the score close and it was only a try a minute from time that lead to the full time score of 25 - 8.
Aaron Coundley the Dragons forward coach said " I am very disappointed with the result but the guys showed some character in the second half and were unlucky not to get some reward for their efforts."
The next game in the championship is a home fixture against Blues North at Ebbw Vale on the 5th of October 7.15 kick off.
