A position has become available for a physiotherapist with the Dragons U16s squad. The position is ideal for a young and ambitious physiotherapist who has ambitions to work in the rugby or sporting industry, with a view to developing through the age groups and into the Senior Squad.
The succesfull candidate will work as part of a team with the Dragons U16s coaches and management. Key responsibilities will include:
- Undertake the collection of player medical information as required by the latest sporting and medical standards.
- Attend regional age grade training and matches in accordance with the summer and competition programme and in accordance with the timings as set out by the requirements of the Head Coach or Team Manager.
- Inform the coaching staff and management of any long standing injuries that may hinder the player through the training and development programme. - Treat and record any injuries that may occur to the players in the regional age grade squad.
- Communicate such injuries to the coaching staff and management.
- Plan the medical supplies for the season and make the Regional Age Grade Co-Ordinator aware of the supplies to be ordered in a timely manner.
- Provide players with rehabilitation and pre-habilitation exercises where appropriate and inform the Team Manager where they feel the player is not following the prescribed course of action.
- Input in an end of season review to aid in the improvement of the age grade programme for the following season.Dragons U16s training sessions in which you will be required to attend will be held on a Monday and Wednesday at 6pm at Newport High School.
Fees will be paid at the rate of £40 per training session and £60 per game.
