The Cwmbran Big Event aims to be the biggest celebration of physical and cultural activity in Torfaen. Most of the events are free and designed to be fun for the whole family. The event culminates with the Big Event Finale at the Boating Lake on Saturday 16 July.
A large covered performance stage is already fully booked and will showcase a wide variety of musical talent. Llanyrafon Manor will also open its doors to the public and activities will take place at the Congress Theatre during the week. Councillor Bob Wellington, chair of the Cwmbran Regeneration Strategic Partnership and leader of Torfaen council, said: “We want the Cwmbran Big Event to complete our impressive line-up of annual summer events by complementing World Heritage Weekend and Pontypool Carnival. “The Big Event aims to get people participating across a wide range of activities on their doorstep to highlight the vast range of clubs and facilities in Torfaen.”
Disabled parking is available on site. AA signs will direct cars to parking at County Hall, Cwmbran where a park and ride scheme will operate throughout the day.
