We were delighted with the win last week at Sale, victories on the road are always hard-fought but the boys really fronted up and there were some great individual performances.
Speaking of performances, it was great to see such a posse of Dragons Supporters up there. It made a big difference that every time there was a stop in play we could hear our own supporters cheering us on. All the boys would like to thank Dave’s Coaches for organising the trip and we look forward to seeing you all again taking over someone else’s ground!
Congratulations to Dan Lydiate, Jon Evans, Jevon Groves, Rhodri Gomer Davies and Nicky Griffiths who are all representing Wales at various levels over the next couple of weeks. It’s great to see the young guys coming through the region and getting international recognition.
It was great last weekend to see the return of Martyn Joe and MJ. They are all important players in the squad – both on and off the pitch and we’re all really pleased to have them back in the fold.
We would also like to thank everyone involved in the relocation of our gym. It was as lot of hard work so a big thank you to our Ground Staff Kyle and Nick and particularly Paul Edwards for their help. Paul is constantly getting roped into things down at Rodney Parade and we really do appreciate the effort he puts in behind the scenes.
As a group of players we are delighted that Tony Brown and Dylan Matthews are going to be giving their input into things here and we’d like to welcome them both. I think there are certainly exciting times ahead.
It’s obviously important for all of us as players to think about our post-playing career. Ashley has been organising courses in carpentry, plumbing and building and obviously a few of the boys have businesses and investments. Aled Brew’s plans are a little closer to home – having been seen by several witnesses hanging around the club offices and shop looking for a bit of extra part time work - so don’t be surprised if you find him serving you in the Ticket Office in the not too distant future!
