The Dragons U18s play Saracens U18s on Thursday 18th August at Blackwood RFC, 3pm kick off. The Dragons U18s were narrowly beaten 8 - 7, with the last kisk of the game, by Saracens last Friday at the National Academy Tournament held in Saracens so the squad will have a chance to reverse the result this week. Will Thomas, the Dragons Academy Manager, commented 'the Academy Tournament was a great event to play against top English Opposition and we were unfortunate to lose in the top of the table decider to Saracens with a last minute penalty which would have sent us into the final against Northampton Saints.' The Dragons ended the day in 4th position out of eight teams after narrowly losing to Gloucester in the 3rd place play off.
The Saracens U16s have had to pull out of their fixture with the Dragons U16s which was going to produce a double header also at Blackwood. The Dragons U16s will now play the Dragons U17s instead which will be a 1pm kick off. Both the Dragons U16s squads performed well aginst Leicester Tigers last week and were keen to play further English opposition before heading into their first Regional game on the 24th August.
The Dragons U16s Development squad are playing Bridgend District U16s at Bettws RFC, Wednesday 17th August, 6.30pm.
