DRAGONS U20S DEFEAT BRITISH ARMY U23S

Dragons U20s defeat Army U23s

The Dragons U20s took on the Army U23s last night at Eugene cross Park and came away with a convincing 34 - 3 win.

The Dragons began the stronger of the teams and were leading 12 - 0 after 13 minutes from tries by wing Steffan Morgan and Outside Half Dorian Jones, who also converted his own try.

The very physical and older Army side then had a considerable amount of posession deep in the Dragons half but could not transfer this into points as the Dragons defence was outstanding at times, and they were determined to keep them out.

Just before half time the Dragons broke upfield and after some good phases of play No.8 and Capt Grant Rogers scored, with Dorian Jones converting.  On the stroke of half time the Army dropped a goal which were to be their only points.

The Dragons had the lions share of the game in the second half and this showed as they scored tries through impressive centre Ross Wardle and flanker Leon Burgess, with replacement  fullback getting on the scoresheet  converting one.  Dorian Jones also dropped a goal to take his match tally to 12 points on his home ground.

This was a very pleasing result for the Dragons after losing last time out to the Blues and it showed through their determination and commitment during the game.
