Newport Gwent Dragons fly half Jason Tovey has paid tribute to the Rodney Parade fans on Saturday evening following the region’s Magners League victory over Munster.
“Munster are a very strong side,” said Tovey. “I know that they were missing some players but when you look at the back line they fielded, it was fantastic for us to acquit ourselves so well against them.
“You have to give a lot of credit to our fans. They were totally behind us, as they have been all season, and it really makes a difference when you’re on the pitch. They created an electric atmosphere and it was great for us to be able to put in a strong performance for them.
“We are all pleased and proud of the way we played and are definitely looking at the playoffs – there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be serious contenders for the top 4 spots.”
The Dragons will next be in action at Rodney Parade on 27th March against regional rivals the Ospreys (6:30pm)
