Newport Gwent Dragons Head Coach, Paul Turner has tonight been named the Magners League Coach of the Season at the inaugural Magners League Awards dinner at the Millennium Stadium.

Turner last year guided the Dragons to their best finish in several years and automatic European Qualification.  Last season the Dragons were one of the most competitive sides in the League, losing only twice at home and beating all four play-off sides at Rodney Parade.

Wales coach Warren Gatland presented Turner with the award after he pipped Sean Lineen of Glasgow Warriors to the title. Speaking of the award Turner said: "More than anything I'm very humbled by this.

"There are far more deserving people in the room and I've been very fortunate with the staff at the Dragons, who have supported me greatly.  We had a strong season last year and if we can build on our consistency we have the potential to do great things at Rodney Parade."
