Responsible for

Physiotherapy Services to those players contracted under Elite Academy Status

10hrs/week Based on 11 out of 12 months per annum. Service Contract.

Key responsibilities and main tasks and activities

• The Management of Player Injury.
• Manage and deliver leading edge physiotherapy service provision – this to include Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation in order to meet Elite performance training Objectives, and to ensure safe return to the Playing arena.
• In Order to facilitate the most appropriate Injury care Pathway, close Interaction with Medical Personnel and Regional Colleagues is essential.
• The Maintenance of accurate Records via database.
• Familiarity with Functional Screening as an assessment Tool and the Interaction of with Fitness /Conditioning Personnel.
• The Promotion and Application of Prehab is desirable. Where necessary implement achievable Intervention/Prevention Strategies to meet key training Objectives.
• Regular Appraisal to Key Stakeholders – The Academy Manager, Academy Coach and Management team in relation to Injury Status, fitness to train /Play etc.
• As an autonomous practitioner, work within the rules as defined and obligated by the Professional Body, its Code of Conduct, standards and guidelines, to ensure that the physiotherapy service effectively meets it's commitment to athletes, coaches and national governing bodies as monitored through clinical audit.
• With Regard to communication and the disclosure of information, it is essential the rules in respect Professional Confidentiality are strictly adhered to.
