Newport Gwent Dragons opened their EDF Energy Cup campaign with a 3-3 draw against current Heineken Cup winners London Wasps.
In the wet and wind of Rodney Parade, The Dragons put on a display full of grit and determination to secure the draw which leaves the Pool wide open as Gloucester and Newcastle also drew. A total of 61 scrums were set and there were very few try scoring opportunities. Wasps did claim a touchdown but the TV match official ruled that Gareth Wyatt had been obstructed in the build up to the score.
Ceri Sweeney put the home side three points ahead with his penalty but Cipriani levelled the scores twenty minutes later.
Dragons academy member Dan Lydiate was awarded Man of the Match.
