Dragons flanker Colin Charvis was unable to travel to France with the Welsh squad for a warm up camp as he is suffering with viral labyrinthitis.

Welsh coach Gareth Jenkins said: "Colin is suffering from viral labyrinthitis, or vertigo which causes imbalance and nausea, making him too unwell to travel with us.

"Initially we thought Colin would join us for the remainder of the week but he is still unable to fly at this stage (Monday) so we felt it was more important that he makes a full recovery in order to resume full training on our return from France.

"Other than Colin, everyone here has taken an active part in training. Ian Evans, Rhys Thomas and Gavin Henson, who are recovering from injury, have taken a full, active part in training with Shane Williams resuming all except contact work.

"Jamie Robinson suffered a minor ankle ligament strain yesterday (Sunday) and has been resting today.

"Spirits are high despite some wet 'Welsh' weather and it is great to be able to get to know the location and training facilities before we arrive here in September to prepare for our first Rugby World Cup game against Canada. We are particularly pleased with the quality of the facilities and pitches at Saint Nazaire Rugby Club - for a Division Three club it is particularly impressive."
