Newport Gwent Dragons back row forward Nic Fitisemanu is looking forward to a happy New Year following a successful operation at Bupa Hospital last night.
The Dragons number eight from Wellington, New Zealand has made thirty-three appearances for the Dragons since joining the club last year. His positive attitude has a favourable impact on the squad and the Dragons look forward to a speedy recovery.
Speaking of the operation and his contribution to the squad, Nic commented:
“As a player who’s not had the best of luck with injury this season, I’m delighted that the operation last night was a success and I look forward to playing again as soon as possible into the New Year. It is much better than originally thought and the bicep has been reattached to the bone successfully and the ligament shoulder damage had been repaired. Hopefully the healing process should only take six weeks and I’ll be sure to contribute to the squad regardless of injury.”
Head Coach Paul Turner reiterated:
“The operation is good news for Nic and for the team as we had originally feared worse. He’s made a huge contribution to the team both on and off the pitch since joining last summer. We look forward to Nic returning to the squad fitter and stronger than ever in the New Year.”
